CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

I woke up to my name being called. I slowly opened my eyes. I had such a headache. Giovanni was still on top of me, which only surprised me for a few seconds.

“Crystal, Chad called a bunch of times looking for you.”

I blinked my eyes. I heard the words, but I had a terrible hangover and couldn’t respond right away. Then I realized Giovanni and I were naked and Rosario was in the room. I asked him, “Did you see anything?”

“No, Crystal, you guys are pretty covered up,” he replied. “Did you screw my brother last night?”

The blanket was still over us, which I was happy about. “I don’t know. I kinda crashed before it got that far.”

“Giovanni couldn’t do that to you if you passed out,” he assured me and handed me a phone.

I called Chad. “Baby, where did you go last night?”

“Giovanni’s.”

“Did you fuck him?” He sounded sad.

“No.”

“Good, come over. You probably have a massive hangover.”

“Yeah, OK.” Then I gave Rosario back the phone and he left the room, closing the door behind him.

I ran my hands up Giovanni’s bare back then through his hair. He started to stir a little. I wanted him to wake up and finish what we started the night before. I wanted him to know how much I loved him and had hoped the night before he would have succeeded. I was still too afraid he did not feel the same. Sleeping together while you are both drunk is not the same as making love, which is what I really wanted.

I just responded with, “I was drunk but I wanted you to do it, so don’t worry.” My legs were wide open and around his.

Giovanni lifted his naked body off mine, kneeling between my legs. I could see he tried not to look at my body, but he failed. As he got to his knees, the blanket fell away.
